With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Matthew of Sourozh, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA and Canada, the annual Labor Day gathering will take place Friday, September 4th–Monday, September 7th.
We invite everyone to the Patriarchal Estate in Pine Bush, where you can spend time working and relaxing away from the bustle of the city with your whole family. Guests will have the opportunity to attend Divine Liturgy, go to confession and receive Holy Communion, visit our small farm, and enjoy volleyball or soccer.
By taking part in this gathering, you will not only enjoy a peaceful and meaningful weekend, but you will also have the opportunity to offer your help to this parish, which is located far from large Russian-speaking communities.
Every year, volunteers help with splitting firewood, repairs, painting, cleaning, and many other projects. There is work for everyone, young and old! Here’s the blog from last year.
You may come for just one day or stay for several days. If you are camping, please bring a tent, sleeping bags, and everything else you would normally need for a camping trip. Designated camping areas are available on the church property, and campsites should be reserved through the church website.
Meals will be provided for all volunteers during the communal meal. However, you are also welcome to bring your own food and prepare shashlik, plov, or anything else you would like to share with family and friends.
In the evenings, we will gather for an outdoor movie and a campfire with songs and guitar.
Please remember that this is not simply a recreational trip, but a Labor Day gathering centered around service. We come together to work, help, and also enjoy fellowship and rest.
• Children are welcome, and pets are also allowed.
• There is a small apiary and farm on the property. Garden produce and honey may be available for purchase.
