Victory Day 2016 Parish Picnic

Dear brothers and sisters,
On May 10, 2026, following the Divine Liturgy, the procession, and the memorial service (Panikhida) at the Memorial Cross, we warmly invite everyone to join us for our Victory Day Parish Picnic.
Victory Day is not only a historical date. It is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and reflection on the sacrifice of those who endured suffering and gave their lives so that future generations might live.
For us as Orthodox Christians, it is also a reminder of sacrificial love — as the Lord says: “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends” (John 15:13).
We remember not only a military victory, but a victory of the human spirit — courage, faith, and the ability to preserve humanity even in the darkest times.
This picnic is an opportunity to:
- gather as a parish family
- spend time together in a warm and joyful atmosphere
- pass on the memory of this sacrifice to our children
- simply be together in gratitude and fellowship
Please feel free to bring food to share, invite your loved ones, and join us as we come together to honor this meaningful day.
With love in Christ,
Your parish
